Meet the Board of Directors

President: Dr. Michael Rubin

New to his role as president, but not new to the Board, Mike grew up in Malden and attended Brown University (undergrad) and Bridgewater State University, Harvard, and University of the Cumberlands. Mike is the Principal at Uxbridge High School and lives in Mendon with his wife Michelle and their daughters, Sloane and Lylah.  Mike enjoys sportscasting, cooking, and hiking.В  Mike and his family have been members of the TEC community for 11 years and aside from his new role as president, Mike is a member of the Rabbinic Transition Committee, Capital Giving, and the Building Committee.  According to Mike, “Most people can remember that sometimes I have a Boston accent, and sometimes I do not.”


First Vice-President: Howard Heilweil

New to the role of First VP, though having served on the board in the past, Howard grew up on the Connecticut shore and attended Eastern Connecticut State University.   He is a Director of Account Management for Crum & Forster Insurance in Morristown, NJ. In his free time, Howard enjoys running and hiking, and also watching the Red Sox (hopefully not) lose.  He and his wife, Cindy, live in Ashland and have 2 adult children, Sarah and Adam.В  They have been members of the temple for fifteen years.  In addition to the board, Howard is also a member of the Rabbinic Transition Committee.  Howard looks forward to a very exciting transitional year at TEC!


Second Vice-President: Robert Martin

Bob grew up in New York City and attended Wesleyan University (undergrad) and the University of Rochester (grad). Bob is a retired professor of psychology, dean, vice president for academic affairs, and interim university president.

Bob and his wife Elaine live in Milford and collectively have 5 adult children. They have been TEC members for 7 years. Aside from his board duties, Bob also serves as Chair of the Adult Education Committee and Co-Chair of the Rabbinic Transition Committee. In his free time, Bob enjoys hiking, eating, politics (reading), auto racing (as a spectator). According to Bob, one thing that will help temple members remember him is “I am usually and hopefully smiling and I am hair-challenged.


Treasurer: Owen Folsom

Owen grew up in the small rural town of Monmouth, Maine, and attended Dean College in Franklin. Owen lives in Wrentham with his wife Melissa and they have two adult children, Emma and Jacob. He is a Director of Financial Planning and Investments at Northwestern Mutual Life. In his free time, Owen enjoys backpacking, kayaking, running, movie making, Xbox, gardening, snowboarding, motorcycling and cooking. Owen and his family have been TEC members for 26 years. Owen says that the one thing that will help people know who he is “I am the quiet guy in the background wearing shorts and sandals.”


Assistant Treasurer: Miriam Goodman

Miriam grew up in Hollywood, Florida and attended Boston University and Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. She recently retired from the Franklin Public Schools as their School Business Administrator and currently works part time as a Business Consultant for the Norfolk Public Schools. Miriam lives in Franklin with her husband, Michael, and they have two adult daughters, Sarah and Jenna. They have been temple members for more than 20 years and Miriam also served on the board in 2008. Outside of her part-time work, Miriam enjoys knitting, reading, playing mah-jongg, walking, skiing, kayaking, and other outdoor activities. In addition to her board role as Assistant Treasurer, Miriam is involved in multiple committees including fund-raising, Finance, and the Sisterhood Board. She is also the B Mitzvah Coordinator.


Clerk: Jim Buja

Jim lives in Medway with his wife Rosie.В  They have three adult children and three grandchildren.В  Jim grew up in Dracut and attended Lowell Technological Institute (now UMass Lowell).  He is a retired software engineer.  Jim enjoys gardening, birding and astronomy. In addition to his board duties, Jim is currently chair of the Building and Grounds Committee.В


Executive Secretary: Rosie Buja

Rosie grew up in Scituate, attended Russell Sage College, and is a retired teacher.  Rosie and her husband Jim live in Medway and are the parents and grandparents of three.  In her free time, Rosie enjoys reading, community theater, and really bad puns! She describes herself as “really good at killing plants.”


Director: Stacy Bushey

Stacy grew up in Bloomfield, CT, attended Colby College and is employed as an Executive Assistant at McKinsey & Company in Boston. In her free time Stacy enjoys kayaking, photography, going to the beach, reading and walking. She lives in Milford with her husband, Michael. Their son, Mathew and his wife, Kori (and their dog, Baxter) live in Rollinsford, NH and can be seen usually around Ogunquit where Mathew works. Their daughter, Audrey lives in Worcester and works for Best Buddies. The Bushey family have been temple members for 20 years. Stacy currently serves as Chair of the Leadership Development and Nominating Committee, a member of the Rabbinic Transition Committee and has been a member of the Youth Commission, the Building Design team, and an aide in the Religious School Learning Center. Stacy has served on the Board for 16 years, as a Director, Executive Secretary and Vice President. A frequent attendee at Shabbat services, Stacy is surely best known for the brownies she bakes for the oneg./span>


Director: Cindy Heilweil

Cindy grew up in West Hartford and Simsbury, CT and attended Syracuse University. Cindy is a Special Education Teacher at King Philip Regional High School. Cindy lives in Ashland with her husband Howard and they have two adult children, Sarah and Adam. Outside of her work and temple duties, Cindy enjoys knitting, reading and playing mah-jongg. Cindy is a former TEC religious school teacher and sisterhood president and she currently chairs the Membership Committee.В


Director: Margot Rivelis

Margot grew up in Andover, attended Lasell Junior College, and is employed as a preschool teacher at the Goddard School in Bellingham.  As the wife of Michael (an accountant by day and musician by night), Margot wisely lists music as her favorite activity.  Margot and Michael live in Franklin and have two adult children, Melissa and Sam. They have been members of the temple for 25 years. Margot has held multiple previous board positions, including co-president as well as 1st and 2nd VP. In addition to her board roles, Margot has been involved in multiple committees, including fund-raising, early childhood, and the Sisterhood board.


Director: Norma Vogel

Norma lives in Medfield with her husband Ira and their puggle, Ziva. Their adult son Sam lives in Bellingham. Norma earned a Bachelor’s in English & American Literature at Brandeis University, a Master of Arts in Secondary Education at Tufts, and is a retired teacher. She recently served as co-chair of TEC’s Israel Working Group and Service of the Heart. The Vogel family originally joined TEC in 1993. 


Ex-officio/Sisterhood President: Karen Dauer

Karen grew up in Cohasset and attended Bridgewater State College (now University). She lives in Franklin with her husband Gary and they have three adult children, Daniel, Bob and Emily, and a dog, Rudy. They have been TEC members since 1993. Karen retired in 2020 as a physical education teacher with Framingham Public Schools. In addition to her sisterhood role, Karen has served as a member of the Religious Activities Committee. In her free time, Karen enjoys skiing, walking, swimming, being active, sewing, crocheting, drawing,painting with watercolors, playing cribbage (and I will teach you if interested), and training her dog, Rudy.
