Temple Etz Chaim is seeking a rabbi who is both a worship leader as well as an active and engaging force in the temple and broader communities. Centering around meaningful worship services and social action, the ideal candidate will be immersed in all facets of our congregation, attuned to both the spiritual and social dimensions of our community. Our next rabbi will serve as head of the Religious School with administrative support. The rabbi will lead the teaching staff in the development of the curriculum and in the creation of relative, meaningful programs for the students. The rabbi is also part of a committed lay leadership team, enhancing our collective lives and, as importantly, helping to build the future of Temple Etz Chaim.
To prepare for this search to replace Rabbi Thomas Alpert who is retiring, the congregation engaged in a period of assessment and reflection, using a detailed survey with an impressive number of responses and focus groups for members to share their perspectives, to identify what matters most in the important qualities of our next rabbi and congregational goals, strengths, and challenges.
