There is a long Jewish tradition of contributing to a synagogue in the name of a deceased loved one. This tradition derives from a teaching in the Book of Proverbs that “tzedakah saves from death.” That is, when we remember a loved one with a contribution to something living, we give that person new life long after they are gone.
Each year, Temple Etz Chaim publishes a Yizkor Book where these loved ones can be remembered at the Yizkor Service on Yom Kippur afternoon (4:00pm on Monday, September 21, 2026.)
To include your loved ones in our Yizkor Book, please submit no later than 12:00 noon on Thursday, September 10, 2026.
